CALVIÀ CIVIL PROTECTION REORGANISES WITH A NEW MANAGEMENT PANEL AND THE INCORPORATION OF VOLUNTEERS
The training of volunteers is encouraged and the material resources will be increased in the coming months

New step in the plan of reorganisation and incorporation of volunteers in the Civil Protection Group of Calvià. To date, the Group did not have a command structure, which made coordination of actions difficult. Since this week the Head of the Group, Julián Jareño, has a team of four heads of section. 8 new volunteers have also joined, bringing the Group to 20 members
The first Deputy Mayor and responsible for Security of Calvià Town Hall, Esperanza Català, accompanied by the Head of the Local Police, Esther Ribas, has defined the project as «exciting, like a big family at the service of the citizens of Calvià». Regarding the new heads of section, she has assured that «they are people with experience, who have been in Civil Protection for a long time and who will mark the new functioning of the Group, who are committed and who have demonstrated the great work they have done». Catalá has announced that in the coming months the material means will be renewed and expanded. In the same way, she has encouraged Calvià residents to join the Civil Protection volunteer corps.
Julián Jareño has celebrated the incorporation of new volunteers and has explained that «they will be motivated because they come to work and have a good time, as well as receiving training in emergencies, 4X4 driving, in health care, in forest management...».
